This voltage-regulated light provides continuous brightness over the life of its batteries.  In other words, this lamp does not become progressively dimmer as the batteries.  With voltage regulation, constant power is supplied not only for a more consistent brightness level, it can also extend the life of the batteries and bulbs.  You'll have a consistent, efficient light level from the moment you turn it on, right up until the batteries have discharged to their designed safe cutoff level.
